SOFIE!!!

Of course, our big news is the arrival of Sofie Anderson! Born Wednesday, June 29 at 3:54 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was 20 inches. I was thrilled that she weighed in under 9 lbs. After Elsie, who weighed 9 lbs. 14 oz. I was hoping for anything under 9. Everything went really well. We are loving our new addition. The kids can't get enough of her. She definitely looks like one of ours. She is very familiar. She especially looks like Grace, but they all resemble one another.

Happy 4th of July!

My other big news: I'm not pregnant any more!!! I feel like I could do cartwheels! And although I have pudge in my midsection that wiggles like a jell-o mold if touched, I think I may still be struttin' around like I'm a skinny little mama! (Let's just say it was a rough 3rd trimester full of shooting pains). But it was all worth it, and we are thrilled to have our little Sofie here with us. We are so very blessed and grateful for the beautiful and healthy family we have.

Lagoon

A week and a half before I had Sofie it was Brian's company party at Lagoon. Luckily my parents came with us. Tyler has advanced beyond kiddie land and loves the roller coasters. While I kept the girls on the kiddie rides (yes, poor Grace is still too short, and also too scared) Brian and my dad took Tyler on the big rides. I was grateful for Grandma's help with the girls, especially when they kicked me off of the kiddie coaster because I was pregnant. (No, not at all embarrassing). Elsie couldn't ride alone so I was glad to have my mom there. She rode all the rides with Elsie. It was still a fun day and the kids had a blast.

Water Slides

Summertime is fun time! We spent an afternoon at the Classic Water Slides with cousins Ally and Seth. Tyler had fun on the slides, while Grace and Elsie stayed in the kiddie pool the entire time. Elsie went down the slides a couple of times with Aunt Mookie, but Grace still refuses to go down the slides, and is quite content in the kiddie pool on the kiddie slides. Oh well, she still had fun.

Tired Little Elsie

We were eating dinner and Elsie must have been really tired. She just curled up on her chair and went to sleep. I tried to move her but she would not let me. She woke up later when she fell off the chair.

Fun Run

The kids at their school fun run. I got to help out and mark their shirts as they finished each lap. They had to each run one mile. I knew Tyler could do it, he's very competitive. He finished in the top 5 for his grade. I was a little worried about Grace though. Last year I ran with Tyler, but being 8 months pregnant this year I opted out of running with Grace. She pleasantly surprised me. Her little legs got running and she, too, finished toward the top for her grade. It was crazy hair day, and Tyler colored his hair blue. With Grace's thick hair I figured we could really have some fun, but she would NOT let me do anything fun with it. I'm so proud of them both.

Grace's Dance Recital

Grace's dance studio put on a production of "Mary Poppins" downtown at Kingsbury Hall. Grace was a little Jane and danced to Hurry Nanny. She did great. When
I was getting her ready Elsie got really jealous and insisted that Grace's recital dress was hers and that she was going to dance in the recital. I had to get out one of Grace's old dresses for her. She loved it. She can hardly wait to start dance in the fall.
